About Robyn
I am currently registered as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#154870) and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (#19339), under the supervision of Scott Johnson, LMFT (#42955) at Silicon Beach Psychotherapy (https://siliconbeachpsych.com/). I graduated from Antioch University, Los Angeles with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology . I work with adults, couples, families and adolescents.
I work through a multicultural lens and am LGBTQ+ affirmative. I have been trained in Psychodynamic, Narrative, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (Trauma Informed and Inference Based), Gestalt, Satir, and Existential theoretical frameworks.
I am currently training in EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) by an EMDRIA-approved institution. EMDR has been recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a first-choice treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. It is an evidence-based psychotherapy treatment that is based on the belief that negative thoughts, feelings and behaviors are the result of unprocessed memories. EMDR therapy involves using bi-lateral stimulation while simultaneously focusing on spontaneous associations with traumatic images, thoughts, emotions and bodily sensations. It aims to reduce subjective distress and strengthen adaptive beliefs related to the traumatic event. EMDR does NOT involve detailed descriptions of traumatic events, extended exposure, homework or direct challenging of beliefs (PTSD; WHO, 2013) (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6776929/).
My Therapeutic Approach
I think most positive outcomes from therapy start with a strong working relationship. Learning about you through the context of your environment, neurobiology, and how you view yourself and the world is important to me. I seek to get to know all parts of you-even the parts you may not necessarily like about yourself must be understood, accepted and honored. We can discover ways in which you may be stuck holding on to unprocessed pain. I am here to sit with you through the discomfort, and also through the joy of relinquishing old patterns and methods of coping that are no longer serving you. Together we can develop new adaptive ways of moving through emotions within yourself and with those around us.
I consider my therapeutic approach to be client-centered and humanistic. I believe in the whole person, harm reduction approach to therapy. I do not have an agenda when treating clients, rather I like to empower clients in developing their own intentions for therapy and we collaborate on ways in which I can best support them. While my theoretical approach varies depending on the client, I try to incorporate mindfulness and somatic work with all of my clients. I will always check in to see how methods are working or not working for you.
Areas of Focus:
I hold additional certifications in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) for Traumatized Children, Psychological First Aid, Trauma Focused CBT, and am a certified Hospice volunteer. I was a guest speaker on panel, "Working with Neurodiverse Populations", Antioch University, 2025.

Appointments
I meet with clients both in person and via telehealth by appointment, typically on a weekly basis. Therapy sessions are 50 minutes, and it is generally helpful to find a regularly scheduled session time each week. I am able to meet with anyone in the state of California who has a stable internet connection and a confidential space during our session time.
Free Phone Consultation
A good fit between a Therapist and a client is essential in order cultivate therapeutic growth. I offer a free 10-minute phone consultation to individuals interested in potentially working with me. This gives us a chance to discuss what is bringing you to therapy, your therapeutic goals, and my potential capacity to offer you the support you deserve. This is also a chance for me to answer any questions you might have about working together. Please feel free to call or email me to schedule a free phone consultation. If I am not the right fit, I'm happy to refer you to someone who might be.
Good Faith Estimate
I am an out of network provider, however many clients are able to submit their superbill to their insurance company for reimbursement. I am happy to provide you with an itemized bill (i.e., a superbill) which lists medical CPT codes and administered services and can be submitted to your insurance to obtain reimbursement for services. There is no guarantee that insurance companies will approve your claim; please contact your insurance directly to find out about your coverage before accessing services.
Billing
My fee is $175/50 minute session. I am willing to offer a sliding scale fee for those that qualify.
Fees
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit: www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
